The Delta Sigma Pi App.

A chapter management platform built for Delta Sigma Pi that centralizes attendance tracking, budgeting, member information, and communication tools. Designed to help student organization leaders spend less time on administrative work and more time leading their chapter.
The Delta Sigma Pi App

The Delta Sigma Pi App was created to solve a common challenge faced by chapter leadership teams: managing operations across multiple disconnected tools. Attendance was tracked in one place, budgets in another, and communication often happened through scattered group chats and spreadsheets. I built a centralized platform that brings these essential workflows together into a single, easy-to-use system for officers and members.

Chapter leaders were spending significant time managing attendance records, budgets, member information, and communication across multiple platforms. This created inefficiencies, increased the risk of errors, and made it difficult for officers to access the information they needed to effectively manage the organization.

Create a centralized web application that simplifies chapter operations, improves organization, and provides leadership teams with a single source of truth for managing members, events, finances, and communication.

I designed and developed a full-stack web application using React, TypeScript, Supabase, and REST APIs. The platform was built with a focus on simplicity and usability, ensuring officers with varying levels of technical experience could quickly adopt the system. Throughout development, I prioritized features based on direct feedback from chapter leaders and active members.

Challenges

What was hard

  • Balancing feature requests from different officer positions—each leadership role had unique needs, requiring careful prioritization to create a platform that delivered the greatest value without becoming overly complex.
  • Designing an interface that remained intuitive for users with different levels of technical comfort.

Wins

What worked

  • Attendance tracking and reporting
  • Budget and financial management tools
  • Centralized member directory
  • Chapter communication tools
  • Role-based access and organization management
  • Successfully launched a working application designed for real chapter operations. The platform consolidated several disconnected workflows into a single system, reducing administrative complexity and improving organization for chapter leadership teams. User feedback from active fraternity members and officers helped validate the concept and guide future improvements.
  • This project strengthened my skills in full-stack web development, database design, API integration, and product development. It also reinforced the importance of gathering user feedback early and often to ensure features solve real problems rather than assumed ones.
